Saint Pope John Paul II instituted the World Day of Consecrated life in 1996 to answer the intimate need to praise the Lord more solemnly and to thank him for the great gift of consecrated life, to promote a knowledge of and esteem for the consecrated life by the entire People of God and to invite consecrated persons to celebrate together solemnly the marvels which the Lord has accomplished in them.
2nd February 2023 is the 27th World Day of Consecrated life. On this occasion, the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life has written a letter addressed to all consecrated persons. The letter speaks about the synodal journey which has guided its previous messages, underlining communion and participation, with this one focusing on mission.
