Today, 11 May, the Holy Father appointed Rev. Fr. Toussaint Ngoma Foumanet, C.S.Sp., a member of the Province of Congo Brazzaville and Coordinator of the Union of Circumscriptions of Central Africa (UCSAC), as Bishop of the Diocese of Dolisie (Republic of Congo).
Fr. Toussaint Ngoma Foumanet was born on 1 November 1975 in Sibiti, then Diocese of Nkayi. In 1998 he joined the Congregation. His initial formation as a Spiritan took him to Libreville, Gabon where he studied Philosophy From 1999 to 2002; then to Mbalmayo, Cameroun where he did his Novitiate from 2003. From 2004 to 2008 he studied Theology at Saint Cyprien in Ngoya, Cameroun. He made his perpetual profession on 14 September 2007 in Ngoya, Cameroun, and was ordained a priest on 26 July 2008 in Pointe-Noire, Congo Brazzaville.
Since his priestly ordination, Fr. Toussaint Ngoma Foumanet has held the following responsibilities within the Congregation: Councillor in the Regional Council (2008 – 2009); 2nd Assistant to the Regional Superior, Congo Brazzaville (2009 – 2010); 2nd Assistant to the Superior of the Foundation, Cenral Africa (2011 – 2013) and 1st Assistant to the Provincial Superior, Central Africa (2013 – 2016).
Fr. Tousaint has also held pastoral and missionary responsibilities: in the Central African Republic first as Assistant Parish Priest (2008-2009), then as Parish Priest (2009-2011) at the Parish of the Holy Spirit of Pissa (diocese of Mbaïki) and Dean of the Deanery; parish priest at the Parish of Notre Dame d’Afrique Parish in Bangui (2011 – 2016) and again as Dean of the Deanery (2013-2016); Parish priest of Saint Kisito Parish in Makélékélé (2018-2019), Assistant Parish Priest of Saint Grégoire Parish in Massengo (2019-2020), and finally Assistant Parish Priest of Notre-Dame des Victoires Parish in Ouenzé, Brazzaville (2020-2021).
From 2016 until his appointment Fr. Tousaint has been Provincial Superior, Congo-Brazzaville and Coordinator of the Union of Circumscriptions of Central Africa (UCSAC).
